First off, huge congratulations on becoming part of our incredible community here at Goldsmiths. We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome you as you embark on this exciting new chapter. Get ready for an amazing journey, and know that we’re here to make sure it’s a memorable one.
Before you dive into your academic life here at Goldsmiths, we’d like to introduce you to some of the non-academic opportunities that truly make uni life the best. Goldsmiths students have a rich history of fostering creativity and innovation. We’re known for our diverse community and expressing ourselves - you're joining a student community that encourages you to think outside the box.
Life on Campus
Campus is more than just a place to study—it's a vibrant hub of activity and community. As part of the Student Union, we offer a variety of clubs and societies catering to every interest. From music and arts to sports and politics, there’s something for everyone.
Joining a society is a fantastic way to meet like-minded peers and make lifelong friends. Make sure to head to the Welcome Fair on Saturday, 21st September, where all our clubs and societies will have stalls showcasing what they have to offer.
Don’t miss out on Give it a Go week starting the following week on 23rd September, where you can participate in any sports and clubs to see if you like them before committing to them. Think of it as a try-before-you-buy situation!
Tips for a Successful Start
If there’s one piece of advice to take away, it's to attend as many Welcome events as possible. It can be incredibly nerve-wracking to go somewhere new and not know anyone, but rest assured, there are thousands of other students in the exact same boat as you. University offers an incredible opportunity to connect with new people, but you have to go out and seize these opportunities.
