Families should be environments of safety for the love and nurturing that is essential for the healthy growth and development of children. But with child sexual abuse and violence they become places of secrecy and fear, impacting and damaging children well into their adulthood.
At One in Four, we specialise in supporting childhood survivors and current survivors of sexual violence, domestic violence, abuse and trauma and raising awareness of this challenging issue.

The Elephant in the Room
One in Four is a charity that is passionately and professionally commited to supporting people who have survived child sexual abuse (CSA) and to raising awareness of this challenging issue.
The reason we chose the elephant with one of its legs tethered and coloured it purple is to highlight that one in four people will have experienced sexual abuse by the age of 18. Childhood sexual abuse is often ‘The Elephant in the Room’, making it hard to talk about and explore traumatic experiences.
One in Four is committed to working with survivors of CSA so that they no longer feel tethered by their past abusive experiences. Every elephant pin purchased helps us to provide essential support for CSA survivors and those who have suffered other types of abuse and violence.
Survivors Voices
One in Four gives survivors of child sexual abuse a voice. Through written personal accounts, artwork and poetry we support survivors to express the impact of their experiences and share these to educate and inform others about how a history of child sexual abuse can shape adult lives.
