Students can lodge complaints against your society, or against a committee member for misuse of their position/inappropriate conduct. They can do this through the Students' Union complaints procedure

Any complaint will be investigated in line with our procedure.

If any disciplinary action is found to be required, it will be dealt out to the society or individual in line with our complaints procedure.

Examples of disciplinary actions:

  1. A warning

  2. Suspension from activities

  3. Removal from Committee position or removal from your society/club

Examples of valid complaints:

If your group or committee is facing a conflict you cannot deal with yourself, the SU can help to mediate the issue. Contact the Societies or Sports Coordinators, depending on if you are a society or sports club member, to discuss the situation with them.

All discussions will be kept confidential.

Depending on the situation, they will work with you to find an appropriate means of dealing with the conflict.

This could include a round table discussion between everyone involved, mediated by the SU Team, to address the conflict and agree a plan of action to tackle it and move forward.
