History Society

Whether you're an experienced history student, a part time researcher, or just someone with a casual interest in the past - you've found the right society for you! The Goldsmiths History Society thrives on diversity, equity and inclusivity, because it is the blend of ideas, perspectives, and backgrounds that enable our shared historical journies.

We host a range of historically aligned events, from our show-and-tell sessions, to engaging off-campus field trips that allow us to make connections between the past and present. Our society's commitment to accessible history means that we're dedicated to making history open and welcoming to all; which is why we offer a wide variety of activities, from theatre trips and group discussions, to privately guided tours and experiences. We work closely with Student Community Leaders, Department Student Cordinators, Student Representatives, Department Staff, The Students Union, and more, so that we can curate meaningful student-led initiatives to boost your student experience at Goldsmiths.

We also prioritise the concerns and feedback of our members so that we can all academically excel together - please be sure to reach out to us with any queries or grievances, and we will ensure your student voice is heard by your department.

When attending our initiatives, you'll find a warm and inclusive community that celebrates history in all its complexity and relevance. Regardless of your identity or your level of historical knowledge, you have a place within our society.
