Goldsmiths Creative Writing Society is a warm and encouraging platform for writers at Goldsmiths to share their work through workshops, spoken word events and readings.
So, what is creative writing? Creative writing is defined as any writing that does not abide by traditional forms of writing, such as academic essays or technical forms of literature. It is about self-expressions and having the freedom to write original compositions. You do not need to speak or write perfect English to join! Have fun with your piece by writing at the level you feel comfortable in and can best convey your message.
There is no criteria to join!
Whether you have only written for personal pleasure or have an established portfolio, there is room for everyone. We encourage you to share your work during the sessions and writers who have an established voice and style to submit their work through our Google Form. You can view the Creative Writing Society as your first audience and platform. We have a dedicated response sheet to make sure you are receiving detailed feedback about your writing.
We want to showcase your skills as a writer no matter the type: poems, prose, songs, scripts, screenplays, essays etc.: all are welcome! We'll be hosting workshops, guest speakers and socials throughout the year! Date & Time: to be announced. Join our WhatsApp group, follow our instagram for updates, or simply email us at creativewritingsociety@goldsmithssu.org!
