Hi! Welcome to the Goldsmiths Badminton Club!

Training Sessions

Whether you have not held a racket before, or you have been training since young, we welcome you to join the Goldsmiths Badminton Club! Session start week beginning 23rd September. Details below!

Social

Social sessions are for players of all levels that want to have a good time on the court playing matches.

Training

These sessions are for players interested in learning the basics, but are not interested in serious competition. These sessions will be held by our Captain.

Competitive

Competitive sessions are for more advanced players that are looking to play matches against other universities in either the LUSL(London University Sports League) or BUCS(British Universities and Colleges Sports) Leagues. 

Matches are played in the mixed doubles discipline.

Equipment

Shuttles will be provided for both Competitive and Social sessions. 

Rackets will also be provided, however it is highly recommended that you bring your own!

Session Timings

Social Badminton

Saturdays, 10AM to 12PM @ Deptford Green School

Competitive Team Training (Mens and Womens)

Mondays, 5PM to 7PM @ Deptford Green School

Mixed Team Training

Fridays, 6PM to 8PM @ Haberdashers Askes Sports Hall

***All competitive players must purchase the competitive membership option on our website and join Goldsmiths Badminton on the BUCSPlay > HERE ***

 

Venue Addresses

Deptford Green School

Entrance by (Pagnall St) entrance, 61 Edward St, London SE14 6AN

Bus:

Get the 225 and stop at Fordham Park (Stop P). Walk 1 minute towards Deptford Green School

Train:

Take the overground train to New Cross and exit on your right. Walk along Fordham park on Pagnell street to reach the hall entrance

 

 

Haberdashers Sports Ground

Entrance by St Asaph Road, London SE4 2ED

 

Bus:

From Goldsmiths, take the 343 to St Asaph Road. From there, walk
Train:
Take the train to Nunhead and follow along S tAsaph Road until you reach the hall

Taster Sessions / Waiver

During Give It a Go week you will be able to attend our sessions at no cost! If you have not purchased a memebership product before your taster or trial, you MUST complete a waiver form > HERE!

Sport Access Grant

Students who are experiencing financial difficulty are welcome to apply for the Sports Access Grant. There is no deadline, but aplications will be prioritised for those wanting to compete for the club. To apply please click > HERE
