Goldsmiths Musical Theatre Society presents: 'CARRIE: The Musical'
Adapted from Stephen King’s 1974 novel, ‘Carrie: The Musical’ follows a young woman with telekinetic powers. An outcast at school, where she is bullied for her differences and lost at home, with a fervently religious mother. When classmate Sue Snell reaches out to try and help Carrie, it seems for once, Carrie might have a shot at being accepted. Will Carrie’s powers threaten to overwhelm her and devour everyone in flame? Packed with themes of sin, revenge, femininity and the supernatural; this show is not one to miss.
With music from Michael Gore and lyrics by Dean Pitchford the show incorporates flashy ensemble numbers and heart-swelling ballads that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The show includes homages to the generations between the release of the novel in the 70’s and the present: a blend of ages everyone can enjoy! So grab your iphone, flip phone, rotary phone or fax machine and come on down to watch CARRIE: The Musical.
Carrie’s story is brought to life by two 20 person casts, taking on two shows each. We strongly suggest to come see both casts and Open Your Heart to experience the performances, which have been in the works for months! To keep our actors safe, we encourage the front row to wear masks throughout the performance as they will be right in front of you!
