What is a Sabbatical Officer?
Sabbatical Officers (SABBs for short) are students elected leaders of Goldsmiths Students Union. They are here to represent you and are an influential voice here to make your student experience the best it can be.
No two days are ever the same here. One minute you could be hosting an event with the local community the next you could be meeting with senior leaders of the College to discuss the real issues and challenges that students face.
A Sabbatical Officer role is a full-time, paid position!
You’ll get holiday leave as well as additional College closure days over festive periods.
We don’t expect you to have lots of experience in a similar position, just a passion to support your peers and improve the student experience.
What are the roles?
President
From representing student voices to the College Senior Leadership to being the face and voice of students and the Student Union overall. You’ll be the line manager to your fellow sabbatical officers as well as permanent members of staff. The Student Union is a charity so you’ll gain lots of experience and see what it means to be the head and heart of an organisation.
