Candidate for the position of Neurodiversity Society - Neurodiversity Society - President

M Libaert-Cox

Being a neurodiverse student myself, I have experienced first-hand how much the neurodiversity society at goldsmiths can do. Creating a welcoming safe-space for people to relax, and fostering a community with neurodiverse students is soimportant for our wellbeing. As President of the society, I would grow our community, plan social events and find new ways to help neurodiverse students with university life.

I would be a great president as I am able to relate with others, help support people, and always approach situations with a can-do mentality! Even if I struggle to get out of bed sometimes (thanks ADHD!), I will always bring my all and help people in whatever way I can.

As president, I would arrange visits to museums and other places that offer sensory friendly visiting times. This would allow people to access experiences they may otherwise not visit due to the risk of overstimulation. I will host sensory-friendly events anyone can attend and arrange drop-ins for students to talk to the disability services team.
