Make your voice heard, make a difference.
Hi, I am Pritu! I am a final-year Management with Economics student and an active member of the Goldsmiths community for over 2 years now. I have been involved in various societies and leadership roles, such as Department Student Coordinator (DSC), School Student Coordinator (SSC), Treasurer of the Economics Society and Student Community Leader (SCL). In these roles, I focused on enhancing the student experience through greater integration between the university and the students. Now, I want to streamline my focus on empowering students to make change, being proactive on equality and social justice, and creating accessible activities for all. Fun fact: I am quadrilingual. I can speak English and Nepali fluently, with a dash of Hindi and Spanish.
The 3 key things I want to achieve in this role are:
1) To increase student participation and engagement in campaigns and activities by creating more opportunities, promoting the benefits, and providing feedback and recognition.
2) To improve the quality and diversity of campaigns and activities by collaborating with the students, staff, and student media outlets, to ensure that they are relevant, inclusive, and accessible to all students.
3) To advocate for the rights and welfare of students involved in campaigns and activities by working with the relevant team, and external partners to address the issues and challenges that students face, such as funding, space, safety, well-being and more. This is now vital more than ever.
I hope you share my passion for empowering students and creating the best environment possible for the future student community. I appreciate your time and attention to reading my statement.
