Hi! I’m Be, a non-binary, neurodivergent filmmaker from Brazil.
I have a degree in Audiovisual and was actively engaged in student activism at USP, one of Latin America's best universities. In addition to my work as a filmmaker, I'm a drag queen known as Lyra D. Lírio and a circus artist.
Currently, I hold the role of Vice-President in the Association of Trans Professionals in Audiovisual (APTA) in Brazil, and I'm the Executive Producer of the Brazilian Transgender Museum of History and Art (MUTHA). I also run Purpurina Films, a production company specializing in queer films and drag and circus shows and festivals. I have a strong background in event organization, with a particular focus on the LGBTQIA+ community.
I'm well-prepared to contribute to SU's work by organizing events and creating more inclusive spaces for trans individuals. As a trans disabled international student, I always bring an intersectional perspective to my work.
Vote for me to bring more diversity and vibrancy to the team!
