Support Women Who Dream and Hope

I believe students should vote for me as a Women Officer because of my dedication in being a role model for other women in my community. My tenacity to lead an impactful life everyday by living in wisdom. I am someone who would try my best not to let others down, by giving my best in everything I do. I love serving others in my community with my idealist ways of seeing the world. With the courage to stand up for women’s rights with my creativity and emotional capacity. I will adapt to the needs of the women in my community.

I pledge to bring new ideas of artistic activities as a way to include women from different backgrounds. I pledge to be of service to women in need of guidance of accessing different resources in and out of the university. I like listening to people and their problems, easily relating to them.

I am a student studying First Year BA Fine Arts and History of Arts. I love going to the museums, adventuring to beaches and empty fields, heritage sites and the antique stores. I love hoarding things I find precious anywhere! I am an introvert with an extroverted outer layer, so one would call me an ambivert. I am like an oyster shell that you need to unravel, because I can be hard to understand.

The role would be my platform to expand the current responsibilities I hold, creating programs that facilitate dialogues between women for personal and collective developments. I am currently serving as a Student Representative in both Visual Cultures and Art department. The student’s experience here in Goldsmiths matters a lot to me, which means I am always ready on hand to help the people around me achieve what they wish to achieve.

The arts are my life. My arts practice is on tracing back to her cultural roots. I combine tactile materials ranging from textiles, found object turned into installation, sculptures and performance in my practice, researching and creating works to explore historical, social, and cultural subjects in the contemporary to rediscover my fragmented personal identity and familial history. Through multidisciplinary and experimentations, I reconstruct traditional domestic activities and objects, delving its relationship and significance in the public through the bodily and spatial experience. Writing, speaking, dancing, and textile are a means of therapy for me.

My motivation as a Women’s Officer is to be able to share my experiences and resources with women from International backgrounds newly joining Goldsmiths, including current ones for the day-to-day workings of the university. I hope to continuously empower women who are marginalised and silenced. I hope to give back to the community as women in Goldsmiths have continuously helped me grow to become the person I am today.
