Door Entry Policy

Staff, Students, and Patrons are required to observe the policies of Goldsmiths Students’ Union. Any breach of these policies will not be tolerated and pursuant action will be taken.

We reserve the right to refuse admission.

  • Please be aware that SIA-licensed security will search you and your belongings upon entry to an event. This is for the protection of everyone, including our staff, venue, and license. As required by our license agreement, we take a systemic approach to searches.
  • All persons will be searched. There are no exceptions for Performers, Acts, or DJs.
  • Upon entry, you may be asked for a valid photo ID as proof of age. This must be a government-issued ID document, such as a passport, national identity card, or driving licence, presented physically to our staff. Failure to present the prerequisite ID may result in non-admission.
  • Our Bar Staff operates the Think 25 Campaign. Please be prepared to show the relevant ID when purchasing an alcoholic beverage. If you cannot provide the required ID to verify your age, you will be refused service for alcohol.

Accessibility

  • We provide accessible, step-free access via the front door, and a lift facilitates access to the Bar and RISE, our venue. In the event of an emergency, please make your way to the refuge point outside the lift, where staff will meet you and facilitate your emergency escape.
  • There are accessible toilets on the floor of the Bar and RISE.

  • Regular bar operations are Monday through Friday, Midday – Midnight. On event nights, the venue and bar will open later, as per our licensable conditions.

CCTV

  • CCTV is in operation throughout the Goldsmiths Students’ Union building. The CCTV system is internally managed by Goldsmiths Students’ Union and is implemented for the purposes of Prevention of Crime and Disorder.

Zero-tolerance on Drugs

  • Admission will be refused to Students, Staff, and Patrons who appear to act in a manner that raises reasonable suspicion that they may be under the influence of drink and/or controlled substances.

  • Goldsmiths Students’ Union and Goldsmiths University operate a no-drugs policy. Any breach of this policy will be reported to Goldsmiths Students’ Union Security, Campus Security, and the Police.

Prevention of Crime and Disorder

  • Anti-social behaviour will result in ejection and may result in disciplinary action

  • Any vandalism of Goldsmiths Students’ Union property will not be tolerated. We will seek to recuperate costs for any damage caused.

  • Participating in an assault or fight will result in an automatic disciplinary offence for Patrons, Students, and Union Staff. University Staff found in contravention will be reported to the University HR team and/or their relevant department. Patrons, Students, and Union Staff will be ejected, and where appropriate, the Police will be called.

  • This is a Licensed Premises. Any alcohol found on your person will be confiscated and disposed of.

  • Glasses, Bottles, and alcohol purchased on the premises must NOT be taken off the premises.

  • Patrons should leave safely, promptly, and quietly when the night is over.

General Conditions of Entry

  • You must present a valid photo ID. This must be a valid Government-issued ID document, such as a Passport, Driving Licence, or National Identity Card. Student IDs will not be accepted. Copies will not be accepted.

  • The appropriate admission fee must be paid, where necessary, for all events.

  • Patrons must adhere to instructions given by Goldsmiths Students’ Union staff without exception.

  • Patrons must abide by our Policies, accessible on our website.

Conditions of Ejection from the Premises:

  • If a student has not complied with the Door Entry Policy or other relevant Policy or Procedure, the Patron, Student or Staff will be removed. You may appeal this in line with our compliance policy accessible online: goldsmithssu.org/surveys/feedback/complaints

Late Admissions Policy

  • Admissions will be refused 60 minutes prior to the cessation of an event.
